Shimpei SASAKI studied musicology and conducting at Tokyo Gakugei University and Toho
Gakuen School of Music.
He participated in some international conducting masterclasses including that with Jorma
PANULA in 2012 and 2013.
In 2013-2014,He had lived to study in Munich.
He won the assistant conductor position of Tokyo City Philharmonic Orchestra in
2010,following a recruitment process. After a highly successful two years in his role,the
orchestra appointed him to the position of Associate Conductor of Tokyo City Philharmonic
Orchestra from 2015.
In November 2012,He got a diploma in the 9th Grzegorz Fitelberg international conducting
competition.
In September 2014,He was Semi-finalist of the 5th Bucharest international conducting
competition.
In September 2015,he participated in the 54th Besancon international competition for young
conductors as one of finalists.
He studied with Kazuyoshi Akiyama,Taijiro Iimori,Jorma Panula,Horia Andreescu,Mark
Stringer and Daisuke SOGA.
He conducted Filharmonica Brasov,George Enescu Philharmonic,Tokyo Philharmonic
Orchestra,Gunma Symphony Orchestra,Sendai Philharmonic Orchestra and North
Netherlands Symphony Orchestra.
